PlateCrew is catering software from Prairie Valley Tech LLC ("we", "us"). This page explains what we collect and why, in plain language. Questions: [email protected].
Three kinds of people
Visitors to this website. If you fill in the "Get PlateCrew" form, we receive the name, business, email, phone and message you type, and we use them to reply to you. Like any website, our hosting keeps basic technical logs (such as your IP address and the pages requested) for security and reliability.
Businesses that use PlateCrew. We hold your account details, your menu, prices and settings, and the catering requests and customer details you and your customers enter.
Customers of those businesses. When you order catering through a business's PlateCrew booking page, the business receives what you enter: your name, email, phone, event details and order. PlateCrew stores it and sends the emails (such as your quote and reminders) on that business's behalf. The business decides what to do with it, so for questions about your order or to ask for your information to be corrected or deleted, contact that business. We'll help them act on it.
Payments
Payments are made through the business's own Square or Stripe account, on Square's or Stripe's own pages. We never see or store your card number. We record the amount and whether a payment was made. The payment keys a business gives us are stored encrypted.
How we use information
- To run the service: take requests, send quotes and reminders, track deposits, build prep lists.
- To reply to you, give support and keep the service secure.
- We do not sell personal information, and we do not use it for advertising.
Who helps us run it
We use a small number of providers who handle data only to provide their service to us: Railway (application hosting), Cloudflare (website hosting, DNS and backups), Resend (email delivery), and Square or Stripe (payments, when a business uses them).
How long we keep it
A business's information stays while its account is active. If an account is cancelled we keep the data for a short period so it can be exported or restored, then delete it; copies in rolling backups age out shortly after. Website form messages are kept as long as needed to deal with your enquiry.
Cookies
This website does not use advertising or tracking cookies. We use Cloudflare's privacy-friendly web analytics to count visits; it doesn't use cookies and doesn't follow you around the web. Signed-in business owners get a session cookie so they stay signed in. That's all.
Security
Connections are encrypted, payment keys are stored encrypted, each business can only see its own data, and access to the system is restricted. No system is perfectly secure, so tell us right away if you think something is wrong.
Your choices
Businesses can download their customer list at any time. Anyone can ask us what we hold about them or ask for it to be deleted, by emailing us. PlateCrew is not directed at children under 13.
Changes
If this page changes in a way that matters, we'll update the date above and tell active customers by email.
